We had a dark blue Matador back in the early 80's. My mom bought it because she liked the color and its shape. It definitely had a distinctive look.

The Chevette, Pacer, and Gremlin each made the list.

How's that taste, Van and buckmiz? :D

If you had a mint 2 door Matador for sale right now, your phone would ring off the hook!

I really like the comments made about the Yugo :)

(No, the rear window wasn't really heated to keep your hands warm while pushing it, but you actually may be able to double the car's current value by filling it with gas.)

*LOL*

i had a yugo, :p. if i held it wide open for about 20 seconds, then let off the gas it would let out a huge backfire. it was fun to watch people hit the deck thinking they were being shot at.
good times

My Dad had a Corvair (at least a Corsa), THEN a Gremlin... iiirrrr... Next car was a TVR (Griffith) which I took my driver's license in. That’s an interesting story (IE over 6’ officer with Smokey the Bear hat in a TVR – no front license plate (overheating problems), no horn (electrical problems), no seat belts (British problem) etc)… PS - passed me regardless of tech failure "due to my ability to handle a clutch better then himself"

To be honest, I'm a little suprised that the Chevy Citation (or any of those GM X-Body cars) it's on this list. They were pretty dog awful. Maybe the created of the list didn't want GM have too many of these slots.

Oh, I agree with Hylton's comment above regarding having a 2 Door Matdor now. It wouldn't take long to move that puppy if you wanted to.

To this day, when ever I see a Gremlin, I'm thinking "future Dirt track stock car".

When I was in High School a classmate won a Matador just like the one pictured in the article. She worked at MacDonald's and won it as part of a promotion for employees. If I ever see her again I'll ask if it's for sale!

AMC is taking some hits here (and deserve it I guess), but gotta say; the AMX was a HOT car (imo)... If I found an affordable 390/4gear/dragpack car, I'd buy it tomorrow >>> even tho Camaros RULE

When I was little, my oldest brother bought me my very first Tyco electric racing set for Christmas. One of the first cars the came with it was a green gremlin which turned out to be my all time favorite. Even to this very day, I have always liked those cars. :)
