Hello,
I have a 1969 Camaro Pace Car with F70 x 14 Goodyear Polyglas tires on it. The look is great but the ride could be better. What would be the best replacement in a radial tire that has the same height and width as the current tires and with raised white letters similar to the current Goodyear?

well, a 215-70-14 is the same size tire, but I'm not sure they exist anymore...

What about picking up a full set of 15x7 rallyes and mounting up some 225-60-15's?
Close to the same ht, an inch wider, and a shorter stiffer sidewall.

i'm going with the firestone firehawk indy 500's for the firebird (not cuz they have 'fire' in the name!). they have the best ratings at tirerack.com and aren't too expensive. they might not say 'goodyear' but have the same style raised white lettering, and if you don't like that, you can always mount them inboard.

On my X22 SS, I am currently running BFG's redline radials from Coker Tire. Size is the same as JimM pointed out on 14X7 wheels. The ride and handling is a lot better than the bias-ply originals. I run with them most of the season and only switch them over to the bias-ply for the major AACA type shows.

BFG still has that tire listed
