I think I may have a vacuum leak, I have a 383 stroker with an airgap intake, 750 DP. I hear a high pitch wistle in the carb. It only doea it after the motor gets warmed up so that why I think a vacuum leak, plus I hear a popping through the exaust. It also sounds like a miss while driving.. I have a 555 solid lift cam.. Also sometimes when you come to a stop it acts like it wants to die when you aply the brakes, I do have power disc brakes. SO any ideas.. THanks

Take some carb cleaner and do some short squirts around the base of the carb and around the intake. Try to keep it away from the throat of the carb. If there is a vacuum leak it will suck in the carb cleaner and you wil hear the rpm's increase. When you squirt, wait about 5-8 seconds between each squirt. That will give it time to circulate. If the rpm's increase then you know you are in the vasinity.

assuming itsa holley carb, it's not terribly unusual for the bowl vents to whistle. You can try extending them with a peice of rubber hose, checking the float levels, and messing with the secondary idle stop (and then the primary to get the speed right again) to make em stop.
Just take the air cleaner off and put a finger on a bowl vent to prove that's what's whistling, and which one.
