I read on here that the way to tell 67 seats from 68 was that 67 have metal set backs and 68 plastic. Is that an all inclusive fact. meaning did early 67 have metal and later platic? My 67 has plastic. God know sometime in the last 40 years 68 seats could have been installed. I just want to know what covers to order.

The CRG site states that in 67 it started with metal backs, during the production year they then switched to plastic. I have not seen any metal ones for sale at the regular suppliers.

You start to see Plastic seat backs in 67's starting towards the end of April ( I've seen 04D)and the beginning of May on almost all the colors.
This change over seems to be slightly different when you compare cars produced in Norwood versus Van Nuys.
CRG have a huge data base so you might want to list your car's build date.

I have a pair of metal ones that I saved when i parted out (what was I thinking) 67 that had been wrecked (all front end damage). I was going to use them on my 68, but will probably end up selling them instead.
