I have an 86 IROC that I just bought and it needs a lot of work. One of the things that needs replacing is the alternator. Is there anything wrong with a chrome powermaster 100 amp (http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product.asp?pf%5Fid=718086&dept%5Fid=1123) or should I go ahead and spend the extra money for an ACDelco (http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product.asp?pf%5Fid=718464&dept%5Fid=1123) even though its listed at a lower amps?

HEY ANOTHER OKIE!!!! Welcome!!
IMHO, I would only go powermaster if I needed the extra amps. Big stereo? cool.
But you say PM is cheaper so, sure why not? :D

get a stock replacement alt for your car. get the one with the biggest amp rating they make for it just to have a cushion.
or, you could get a rebuild kit and rebuild it. the kits are cheap, and they come apart and go back together with 4 bolts.
