I have been a fan of POR15 but just bought a set of powder coated stock control arms to save some prep time ( and they looked nice ! ). How durable is the stuff? I ask because I also have another subframe I want to prep and am now wondering on what approach to take.

I understand it's supposed to be pretty tough. I'm going to go buy a system that Harbor Freight has on sale now.

I have a friend that races modified midgets and all his frames are powder coated. He normally races on dirt and the coating holds up very well. Hope this will help. Erik

I powder coated my frame and will never do it any other way! Turned out awesome and yes it is very durable. "Pac Black" is enamel based and works the best, also has the lowest gloss. It is not UV resistant however but who cares.
