This wheel is from a 2000 Camaro which is 16x7.5. What I'm wondering is will a rally wheel "derby" cap fit/mount on it? There won't be a problem with the trim rings as they're available in 16" but I'm not sure the cap will mount because it looks like the center doesn't have the 3 bungs or whatever they're called to grip the cap. Has anyone tried this already? I'm trying to find a way to get a rally wheel appearance on my 69 in a 16" wheel. Does anyone make an aftermarket rally in 16, 17, or 18"? What do you say???? Thanks

The thing I don't like about these is that the trim ring doesn't go all the way to the center like stock rings do. They also have them chromed where you don't use a trim ring: http://wheelvintiques.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page57.html

But I don't like the no trim ring look. I considered getting the chrome version and using the trim ring, so where the trim ring stopped, there would be chrome instead of paint.

These have the missing trim ring look that I don't like, but alot of people like this look. (I wonder if trim rings would work on this wheel? This wheel didn't exist when I decided to make mine.)

Another issue with the steel versions is that they still use the center hub from a 15" wheel and can't fit bigger brakes if that is in your plans.

A little pricey for me. I just hoped someone here had found a readily available steel wheel that would accept beauty rings and derby caps in 16". I guess if anyone has found one, they haven't made their way here yet. BTW: I was thinking of using 225/50-16s on the front and 245/50-16s on the rear. The 245s happen to be the exact same diameter as the stock 225/60-15s. I just happen to have one each of those tires saved from my 300ZX that I could use to test fittment before buying a new set. Does anyone know of any issues with those sizes? Thanks All

Those are the sizes I use. I tried the 245's in the front and they rubbed the rear of the fenderwell, right at the rocker panel. (But my wheels don't have quite as much backspacing as I'd like.)

One tip if you do have rubbing here is to change the fender to fenderwell bolts to Allen buttonhead bolts. They have a shorter dome style head that doesn't hit the tire as easily and doesn't hurt it as much if they do touch.

Well guys, I bought the wheels above (2000 Camaro steel 16") and thought everything looked good to use BUT, I overlooked one very important thing. Back spacing. I just naturally assumed since they were from a Camaro, everything would fit. I couldn't even mount them, front or rear. At 7.5" wide, they hit everything...tie rod end on the front and shock on the rear. I don't think I would use them even if I could get them to fit since they would be so far in, making the stance of the wheels very narrow looking. OH Well...

Does anyone know of a 16" production steel wheel that would fit? Thanks
