I am thinking of going old school with a flat black cowl hood and rear spoiler

If you do that, you should also black out the rear Tail Light Panel.
I think it will look good. When I changed my flat hood in favor of a Cowl Hood, I was unsure if the paint would match. If the paint did not match, I was going to paint the hood flat black.
