I did a search, and can't find anything, I'm about to replace the vertical window felt at the front of the door window in my 67. Are there any tricks to it? Do I need an adhesive?

no adhesive needed
I did mine with the wing window assembly out of the car, while I was working on painting the car
it just kinda shoves in there. If your front windows are still in, you might need to lube and slide the new ones down into the window channel, but I am not sure if it will work

If you need to replace you wing window moldings now is the time to do it. There are tangs you have to get to and it's easy with the run molding out.

It's easiest if you take the whole vent window out and at the same time, replace the vent window weatherstrip. You'll be glad you did. There is a little tiny screw in the top of the verticle run you'll have to remove first. Then just pull it out. You don't need adhesive.

Sounds good. So, how do I get the vent window out? I didn't order the vent window moldings, but they do need replaced. I guess I'll order it all now. Looks like typical project creep. :)

I hope to get some pics of the proccess when I do my next one in a few days. I know this does not help you right now though. They are sort of a PITA to get out. They are held by a few bolts. A fisher body manual would be handy to have if you have never done one.

Maybe someone has one they can scan and e-mail the door part to you? Or contact Floyd at Firewheel and purchace one?

When you take your door off, you'll see the hardware points. It's not that bad really! Just take a picture of the order in which the nut, washers and spring all come off and go on. Remember, it's a hobby and don't do it in front of your family or anyone you love. It is easier if you have a good buddy to help.

I think its easier with the roll up window already removed, i did one side with the window in and one with it out and it was 100 times easier, and Im not sure I could put the wing windows back in with the main windows in place

Where can one find this felt reproed? I need it for all tracks for all windows... UGH!

To clarify, I am looking for the felt strips inside of the window tracks...

Bill, I think you are talking about this part. Other parts houses probably have them also:

On a tangent, are the vent windows the same for coupe and convertible? I know the rubbers are, since I just bought a pair and they have the same part number.
