View Full Version : True Baldwin-Motion??? rob98ss Sep 22nd, 07, 05:47 PM http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-BALDWIN-MOTION-CAMARO-PHASE-III-L72-427-4SPD_W0QQitemZ300153914437QQihZ020QQcategoryZ6161Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem keypilot Sep 22nd, 07, 06:12 PM are those emblems on the rear spoiler correct. they looks ugly Mike69X66 Sep 22nd, 07, 06:12 PM NO! This phase III thing is a joke. This seller is getting good. Let's also just say that this dealer is probably on a first name basis with our pals at trimtags.com, kz1000ltd Sep 22nd, 07, 07:34 PM Lakeway Motors? Real car? Yea right, that's funny. What's up with the blue plug wires too, what do they go with??? Old Man Sep 22nd, 07, 11:40 PM Nice looking car, gotta love Rally Green. Cowl tag looks fake to me. Mark C Sep 23rd, 07, 05:54 AM 69 subframe and front brakes under that "cosmetically restored" car. JOE58 Sep 23rd, 07, 06:33 AM It is not even a well done clone of a Motion Camaro and is missing most of the hard to find Motion era correct parts. The SS427 emblems are 1968 SS427 Impala emblems and were used by Motion on 427 Camaros Chevelles Novas and Corvettes back in the day The side pipes should be OEM 67 Corvette units - those look like JC Whitney side pipes XLexusTech Sep 23rd, 07, 09:20 AM Just to make things worse thier was a "rumor" that for the right price during the 90's you could go to a certian shop on Sunrise Hwy on Long Island and you could buy all the paperwork you needed to create a BM Car... Fred Ficarra Sep 23rd, 07, 11:00 AM And why does the cameraman always fail to focus on the trim tag and VIN stamp??? I just don't get it. Rat Pack Sep 23rd, 07, 01:13 PM This car has been for sale for over a year now and each time the story changes. The first auction states that it is a Motion Replica, but the next three times it says it is a Motion car w/o documentation. The last two auctions claim the car was in storage in Canada for the last 25 years, never mentioned that before in previous auctions. As for the trim tag, it looks legit to me. Why would they change the tag to a British Green car with black houndstooth interior, and then paint the car Rally Green and install a black std interior? Doesn't make sense. Would be a neat car to have as a driver, but the side exhaust would have to be changed to correct mid-year Vette pipes. Those are the current ones you can get from Summit under the Patriot name...............RatPack.................... 68 Ragtop Sep 23rd, 07, 02:00 PM Not sure why some of you guys are even questioning the trim tag, unless it is tongue in cheek. Seller states "original interior", so obviously they are incapable of decoding even the simplist of codes. Engine casting and stamp code out to a 69 427, but the fact it is a 69 is ommited to look like it was less than a month after the build date, the way some BM cars are documented. Previous auctions had a buy it now of $59,500 with offers up to $40K, which was probably all the money for this tribute car. How many different Camaro sellers are there in Osage Beach? Look at this Poor Convertible recently sold In Osage Beach by a different seller name. Think it's the same dealer? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270163566952 Mike69X66 Sep 23rd, 07, 03:27 PM Yes I believe he has atleast three usernames. The trimtags.com comment I made had nothing to do with the tag on this car I was talking about most of the 69's this guy sells. m21man Sep 23rd, 07, 03:29 PM what comes around goes around to people who fake cars like this. I can't stand these people. They are ruining the hobby! Ratpack Sep 23rd, 07, 07:53 PM True Baldwin Motion?...LMAO. What a piece of crap....he poorly faked a little of every year of Motion stuff on this one...LOL...I love it. Found in Canada sitting for 25 years..LOL. Gotta love it! Yeah, that was a whole other thread. Besides the welds, notice anything missing? http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=116030 68zproject Sep 24th, 07, 10:40 AM I've got a dumb question. Is the ride height correct for this car? Something there looks funny to me, or is that just because of the wheel/tire combo?
