Hi Guys,

I'm making a run to the hardware store to purchase some bolts and wanted to get some for an upcoming rear leaf spring and rear-end install ...

I need the bolts that hold the front of the leaf to the perch ... I need the J-nuts and bolts need to attach the front leaf perch and I also need the bolts the secure the Rear shock (lower) ...

I know that I could purchase these online ... but I rather just get them at Home Depot and/or Lowes ... Hopefully they will have the J-nuts ...

Also, I don't have any stock bolts to compare ...

Thanks ...

Take your old bolts with you and match them up(black oxide or grade 8). The J-nuts should be stamped CIP. You can get most hardware at ACE.

As mentioned ... I don't have stock bolts to compare ... Do you have any sizes?

So far this is what I've found ...

Lower Rear Shock Bolt --- 7/16" ... not sure on length ...

Leaf Spring Front Perch Bolts --- 3/8" - 16 @ 1" in length

Leaf Spring Front Eye Bolts --- 1/2" ... not sure on length ...

Any more help ...

Thanks

The front spring bracket bolts that thread into the J-nuts have a 1-1/8" diameter conical washer on them. This washer is important.

www.amkproducts.com have almost the exact replacement bolts with those washers (a 1/4" longer at 1-1/2") as part number B-11963. $5 buys 4.

Use antiseize on the threads when assembling. You'll appreciate it later in life.

J-nuts can be gotten, as well as the rest of the hardware, from www.mcmaster.com Do a search for J-nuts and there is an extensive post on replacement nuts and a bench test of a stamped nut vs. OE nut.
