I use moving blankets that I bought from Harbor Freight to cover the fenders.

Wife gives me old bed blankets and those quilted mattress covers when she thinks they are due for replacement. Also bed sheets, the flannel kind from kids work well, long and wide plus old beach towels. A full body cover (I have one in the trunk) is great for car shows, motel parking lots overnight etc, but in the garage, I always seem to be moving to different parts of projects and want some of it covered and other areas open, so the towels, sheets etc, let me get to areas easier.

I use old large beach towels for fender covers and also to cover the sill area if I am working under the dash. I agree with Jim, kids with bikes in the garage are your paints worst enemy!
