The 69 convertible I purchased came with 4-wheel disc brakes. Removed the rear wheels this past weekend to find out more. The rear are aluminum body single-piston and have "Varga" on them as part of the cast. Haven't looked at the front yet, but from being under the car they appear to be the same type/style. Been performing online searches and am finding some info, but wanted to know if any of you know anything about Varga brand brakes and/or have them (in the past or present). Appears Varga Brake Company is owned by TRW. Thanks for any info!

I'll call FirewheelClassics.
Anyone else using these and have a good or bad experience with them?

hello, i sell vw parts for a major co and we import lots of parts.....Varga is owned by trw but that co is in brazil.......we dont sell those wheel, master cylinders cause they tend to fail on their first go.....we end up selling german brake parts for up to triple the cost of the cheap brazilian ones....bad bores..shoddy castings and so on. i woul really recomend going with a reputable co. on this one....name brand does matter when it comes to brakes...especially since my kids always ride in my classic.....when i had a 63 split bus i sprung for the german stuff and my cost was almost three times as much as the vargas.
