Hi all,

New member and Camaro owner here, so forgive me if I am asking a dumb question. I did use the search before posting this!

One of the first things I want to do with my new-used car is add some tunes and the stock AM radio is just not cutting it. I've been eyeing the aftermarket kick panels with speakers in them from Custom Autosound:

My only concern is that I have what appears to be a vent on my kick panels (Non A/C car by the way), that I do not see reproduced on the Custom Autosound pictures on the net.

Anyone have these kick panels and able to enlighten me a bit and how they will fit?

no... but if you search the convertible forum for a post started by me with the keyword speakers, you'll find a way to do it with the klick panels you have.

Look at the picture of the aftermarket kickpanel you posted. there is a speaker and there is a lil door. That lil door now serves as the lever to open and close the vent.

I have installed this same kickpanel on 3 different camaro for friends. They work fine, if your getting the ones with speakers included then buy the biggest wattage. I think they are pioneer 140w, i know the lower wattage ones sound horrible, and these are not to bad.

If you do install aftermarket kickpanels make sure to go and buy some electrical dummy from lowes hardware. You will need to use that to form a seal around the vent/cowl opening under the kickpanel otherwise your floorboard will be a pool of water thanks to the open cowl design of these cars.

Another option which imo is easier and works just as good is to buy the indash dual speaker that replaces the center dash speaker. The only difference is the sound is not as seperated as they are when done in the kickpanels.

My kickpanels are shot anyway is there a set like the above that comes without the speakers installed so you can select your own speakers? These are so much less expensive than the repo version.

yes they make them with just the speaker opening and no speaker.
