Carbon fiber hoods in 3 price ranges from 600 to 1k. The fiberglass layered in cf is the cheapest one and weighs like 26lbs and the 100% cf is like 1k and weights under 16lbs.

I bought what I thought was a high quality fiberglass cowl hood for my 67. Paid about $450 for it. Took about the same amount of money in body work to get it to fit and to get the surface level. Never again! It is all steel for me next time. Oh yeah , it was a HARWOOD hood. Ok outta the box for yer 50 ft. race car paint job. Definately not show quality. I would be leery of paying a grand for a carbon fiber hood. I'll bet you can find an origional GM steel one for less than that.

The people making them seem to be pretty respected over on lateral g forums, I think even more than few have bought the 100% cf hoods there.

Hi Everybody,

This is Matt, president of Anvil Auto. I can guarantee that our hoods fit way better than any fiberglass hood that is on the market and in most cases will fit better than any steel hood out of the box. If you know how to adjust your hinges, you can get it to match the fenders exactly. I reworked a steel hood to get it to fit our '69 Camaro. It had a bow in the middle which is typical and got it to fit perfectly. Then we made a mold and a sample. Once the sample was to my high standards, we went into production. I test fit our carbon fiber hood on different first gen cars with the same results- perfect. We also have header panels and cowl panels in stock and are working on deck lids and spoilers as well as second gen parts.

Best, MaTT
