I know this isn't a Camaro, but since the turbo headers, mounts, etc. will all work with out first gens I thought I'd post some progress pics.

Chassis is almost complete and today I stuck the engine in. This gives you a good idea of the clearance from the Nelson turbo headers; lots of room for the downpipes.

That is stunning Jody!

Could you share the specs of the motor and the trans?

Could you share the specs of the motor and the trans?

engine is a 402 LS2 with a Callies crank, Howards rods, Mahle turbo pistons. Has a turbo specific hydraulic roller cam and 11 degree ET Performance heads. I had Hogans do a sheet metal intake with the rails and injectors hidden under the runners. Twin T67-76 Precision ball-bearing turbos, Nelson Racing headers. EFI is a Big Stuff 3 with altitude compensation. The engine combo should max out at 1400 hp, but I'll never run it that high.

The trans is a 4L80E built for Mark Stielow and a 3000 stall lockup converter. I don't know any of the specifics other than it was built to handle 1000 hp without issue. I am also running a paddle shifter and TCI trans controller from Twist Machine.

Those headers are awesome!

There won't be any coils bolted to the valve covers I hope?

Purtiest LSx I ever saw!

I thought you sold the "only driven by a lil ole lady" all orignal chevelle?

no coils on the covers, but I'm struggling as to where to locate them; they won't fit behind the heads like I wanted.

I did sell the 67, this is a 64 Chevelle that Mark Stielow built (Malitude). Of course I had to change everything! :(

Hey Jody,

Will that engine as it sits inside your chevelle chassis fit in to a first gen? Will the hogan manifold clear a 2" cowl and the turbos clear the inner fender wells? With the cross member of the first gen running under the damper is there enough room for plumbing the down tubes? Did you o-ring your block or use cometic gaskets?

The engine and chassis look fantastic, nice work !!

Thanks Rich

yes, it would bolt right in as-is in a first gen. It will clear the stock cowl hood also. The down pipes will go between the mounts and a-arms, so the front crossmember is a non-issue. The block does use a Cometic gasket but no o-rings. It's good to 18 psi or so which will be over 1000 hp, don't need any more than that!

I've been posting updates on the Chevelle site and on Lateral-G; figured no reason to push things on a Camaro site.............. ;)
