View Full Version : Rear power window conversion for 1st gen Jim H Sep 27th, 07, 10:08 PM Are there any donor cars that you could adapt rear power windows in a 1st gen? Vintage 68 Sep 27th, 07, 11:50 PM Jim, I don't know if any other motor or assembly would fit. Fisher usually made use of many components (like the motors and switches) in several models of cars to keep costs down. The regulators are usually very model specific though, with the mounting and travel being as needed for a given car/window size. I have looked into the A1 Electric Automotive system. They have a complete system for many cars and specifically a kit(s) for 1967~69 Camaros - http://www.a1electric.com/camaro.htm The kits are sold seperately for the front and back and cost under $300 for each kit. Installation looks very straight forward - http://www.a1electric.com/camaro2.htm Maybe they would be interested in a referal to this site and might want to set-up a group buy deal  67CamaroRS/SS Sep 28th, 07, 02:36 PM I would be interested in a group buy. Definately let me know if anyone ever decides to try to put one together. I put "MY" total together with the switch kit and it came to $749.85 not including tax and shipping. They have a wide selection of switch kits. I chose a billet style as compared to the classic flat old GM style. wagonman Sep 28th, 07, 08:53 PM Are there any donor cars that you could adapt rear power windows in a 1st gen? firebird........ z28andrs Sep 29th, 07, 04:50 PM Look also for Electric Life, sold by Summit. The stamped material is much thinner than the original, though. I installed them on the fronts of my '67 RS, but since it is still (after almost six years) a project, they haven't seen much use and I cannot testify to their reliability/ durability.
