Thanks dbx1969 Sep 28th, 07, 12:48 PM Its leaking from top of the box. Is there any way to remove the four bolts and replace the seal? Works fine. Thanks Be more specific. Leaking from the highest hole of the two on the backside? How much is it leaking? Drops? Pouring? How often do you have to add fluid? Replacing the seals would be a PITA especially, if it's the hole I suspect it is, and that it can probably be solved without removing. No4njunk Oct 1st, 07, 03:49 AM Looks like the front pass bolt was loose. How can this happen? Can I still replace the seal on top? davidpozzi Oct 1st, 07, 12:07 PM Yes, the allen bolt is connected to the pitman shaft by a ball swivel, just like on a C clamp, so you have to remove the nut, then the four bolts, then screw the allen down clockwise until it threads all the way through the aluminum cover. The cover should lift up as you turn the allen down. finding the seal alone may be tough, it's in the full rebuild kit but I don't know if it's available separately. David |
