I have a TH350 and I'm trying to find the VIN to see if it's numbers matching.
I researched the site and some people say that it's on the drivers side pad.
What's a trans pad?
Anyone have pictures of a trans with the VIN exposed?
Thanks!!!

All I could find is a VERY faint 3 9 M.
It could have been a replacement.
Is their any other way to document the trans?

I hesitate because the more I read the more I find the Camaro and Firebird are more different than alike.
That said, on my '68 Bird TH400, the VIN is stamped on the trans body in the proximity of the shifter cable on the right (passenger) side. A mirror and some good lighting are needed to see it with the trans in the car. It is not easy to locate. See: http://www.geocities.com/jims68fb/AxleCode.html

Jim,
http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#PartialVINs has a great pic of the TH400 VIN location.
But the TH350 is normally stamped up on the bellhousing area.
http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#TransmissionNumbers also has TH400 tag decoded (your site indicated the sequence # (4202 in the pic) is unknown).
Steven,
If this is the trans for your 68, unless it one of the rare TH350 test fleet, it should have a powerglide. What's the build date of the car?

Glad I posted anyway because now I found out what the mystery number is on my trans. (a production sequence). Thanks Kurt S.
