Hello All,

I had the rear bumper replaced on my 1969 Camaro. The car came with the original small bumper guards that go from the bumper to the bottom of the tail panel. I bought the tall rear bumper guards which you see on some factory RS/Z28 cars. Does anyone know how these mount at the top. Is there supposed to be a clamp somewhere. I have the old bumper, but that doesn't do me much good since it has the smaller guards on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

The tall guards bolt into the same place as the short ones below the bumper and have a bracket that grabs the top edge of the bumper.

I got my brackets from camaro specialties in East Aurora just out side of Buffalo.
I believe classic industries carry them as well.

Thanks for the replies & the pic. That was awesome. Do I have to take the bumper back off to put the clamps on? Or does the clamp slide in behind the bumper and bolt up to the top part of the tall bumper guard?

Thanks!!

I put mine on without taking the bumper off:thumbsup:

Yup - the clamp slides over the forward edge of the bumper, and a bolt secures it to a weld nut inside the guard. Photo below, taken from above.
