So as I was digging around under the car, I found my driver-side front leaf spring mount was missing 2 of its bolts and kinda rusting. So, I figure its time to replace them both.

Would I be correct in assuming this is the right one, and the 2nd link the correct bolts for it? Oh yeah, I have a 69 Camaro incase anyone missed my other post heh.

Yes and Yes, but you're gonna need some of these, too: http://www.firewheelclassics.com/store/item.asp?Category=24&SubCategoryID=15&GroupID=&SKU=RLS28A

I am over from team Nova and I just put springs in mine and wanted to give you the heads up in case your bolts that go through the spring eyes are rusted in the bushings like mine were? Luckily I put split monos in mine [new springs with new bushings] so it wasn't a concern, I hope your luck is better than mine.

Well... since you asked. Some searching will reveal a TON of posts on this project, but...

Be glad 2 of your bolts are missing, at least you won't have to grind them off when the J-Nuts break.

Once you get the spring brackets off, it will be rusty and nasty up in the pockets. Use a wire brush in a die grinder to clean out the rust, then coat with por15 or a similar product.

Speaking of getting those brackets out, it ain't easy just taking off the front of the springs, with the backs still attached, and it's harder getting them back on. The whole rear axle assembly will want to shift forward on the shackles, and then the tab on the front of the spring bracket won't want to line up with the slot. It is do-able, just tough.

As the poster above pointed out, the long bolts will probably be rusted tight to the steel sleeves in the bushings. That would be sawzall time.

And now that you have the brackets off, but no place to put your new long bolts, you'll also see that the bushings are shot. Check this post on replacing the bushings: http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=100796&highlight=spring+bushing

It really doesn't matter, b/c when you do it, just go buy the Grade-8 size you need and be done w/ it!!

And fwiw, I took my new ones and redrilled them 3/4" higher up, and then had washers welded on each side of them and then rect. cut the tops out of them so my front spring eye's now sit 3/4" higher up which make's the rear sit 3/4" lower O/A for better handling.

Ps., Oh, and btw, I used SS bolts and stuff and moly-paste anti-seize here so that later on, I WOULDN'T have any rust deal at all!!!!

3/8"

My original "clips" were straight U-clips, but since replacing the entire belly of the car, the original clips wouldn't work. Need to go with J-nuts instead. I bought them at a nearby spring shop for $1.98 each.
