It is a 69 Camaro small block. bowtie-70 Oct 1st, 07, 07:41 AM I think the general rule of thumb is to get as much positive caster as you can, about -.5 camber and about 1/16 toe in. 67CamaroRS/SS Oct 1st, 07, 12:27 PM Mark, I take it you are running radial tires? I ask this because radial tires do not require as much toe as bias ply tires do. Also, the OEM spec for caster in a 1st gen is +1/2* plus or minus 1/2*. I think most guys are running 3* to 3 1/2*. I don't think you can get much more past that with stock control arms, but I may be mistaken. Myfirst 69SS Oct 1st, 07, 12:37 PM Yes radial tires. So get as much caster as possible. Eric Kammerer Oct 1st, 07, 01:21 PM http://www.pozziracing.com/first_gen_suspension.htm#Alignment%20specs davidpozzi Oct 1st, 07, 10:33 PM If you put on a lot of miles in a year, then back the camber down to 1/4 deg neg. If you like to corner hard or drive twisty roads now and then and don't put 8,000 miles on a year, then .5 neg camber is better. If you autocross or open track you can probably use 1 deg neg camber if you have done the Guldstrand mod, or even 1.5 if you can get that much. David Myfirst 69SS Oct 2nd, 07, 11:07 AM Thanks. Had the alignment done this morning. Most camber I could get was 3 1/2 positive. And set the camber to 1/4 deg neg. Car rides and steers great. I am very pleased with the upgrade. Thanks to all the TC members here that helped me through this. Myfirst 69SS Oct 2nd, 07, 11:10 AM Meant 3 1/2 positive caster. eville Oct 2nd, 07, 12:29 PM Did they tell you where your specs were before? I bet it made a big difference in how she drives... joe clance Oct 4th, 07, 12:01 PM Thanks. Had the alignment done this morning. Most camber I could get was 3 1/2 positive. DID the alignment gut think you were nuts to request such alignment numbers? I asked the alignment guys that will install the CPP control arm to set 3-4 degress of positive caster and he looked at me like i had three heads! He'll do anything i want as far as numbers however, i does not make any sense to him at all? Myfirst 69SS Oct 4th, 07, 12:15 PM Not at all. The guy that does my alignments has 2 First Gen's and told me what he would be doing before I even asked. 400bird Oct 5th, 07, 05:08 PM DID the alignment gut think you were nuts to request such alignment numbers?
