Just got a new Classic Industries catalog in and noticed the new, USA made OEM reproduction fenders manufactured from the original GM tooling and are "high grade steel". Cost is $690.00 each as opposed o the $240.00 foreign made ones.

Has anyone used these yet? My car is not ready for paint yet and I have a set of the cheap ones. Could these new ones be worth it?

Thanks,

Im wondering the same thing. But I have to consider that for 3x the price could they ever be worth it. Even if they were like originals. You could buy NOS for that much, if you could find it that is.

I wouldn't be too crazy about original GM tooling which has seen better days.

Jury is still out. If everyone sends me $5 I'll buy a set to "test" on my car :p J/K

If it were me, and I needed them, I spend the extra $ on the USA made products whenever possible.
Again, that's me.

As far as your question goes, I can't say if it's "worth" it to you, to me it is.

I just finished a '69 vert RS and bought front fenders and quarters. The quality was a huge step forward from what they used to be. I got the Goodmark units. The fit was not perfect, but overall, quite good. The NOS units may not be any better. If this is going to be a driver, go with the repops.

I hope someone posts their experience with these new fenders. You can quickly eat up the savings from buying the cheaper repro fenders in hourly rates at the body shop.

I'd love to see someone making higher quality parts in the USA.

Let's see what someone has to say after they have used them.
