View Full Version : Two tone paint Black / Silver
JHunter Oct 2nd, 07, 10:16 AM Hey guys, haven't posted anything for a year or more. Im still in Iraq but due to be home in Nov :) Hopefully the camaro will be in the same shape as when I left.
Been thinking about paint schemes. I have a 68 RS and have always wanted to go straight black w/ emblems etc, kinda stock. Recently I've been toying with the idea of a two tone paint scheme (same as Smokeys) that would be black on the sides and a medium silver, kinda like a gun metal grey/silver on top. Anyone have any pictures of something like that or able to do photoshop?
Anyway, looking forward to getting back home and getting some time off and some time with the car. My plan is to get it moving under its own power, even if the details have to wait - I've had it since 03 and have never been able to drive it.
Look forward to some thoughts or pics.
Thanks guys
John
Car nut Oct 2nd, 07, 01:23 PM Like a old Burger King commercial "Have it your way". Either way will be nice. The silver part will be easier to keep clean. You could do some kind of Foose design. Thanks for fighting for us. Brian

THANK YOU for what you have done for our country. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you guy's fighting for our freedom.
The fact that you're a Camaro guy is a bonus!

JHunter Oct 3rd, 07, 11:23 AM Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate it. We were here for a 12 month tour thats now at month 14, and next month we finally go home - I can't wait.
Wanted to see if anyone had seen pics of how I was thinking of painting mine or had photoshop capabilities. Im struggling with the idea of going more pro-touring (with slowly moving towards the upgrades, but getting the body done since Im at that stage) as opposed to the direction I was headed before I deployed, mostly stock.
Anyway, I look forward to being an active member on here again after my time away.
Take care guys!
overhaulin1 Oct 4th, 07, 10:11 PM check out my cortez silver and black scheme... the black cloth top makes it perfect, in my opinion....
bh3chevy Oct 5th, 07, 04:07 AM Check out my web page - My combo is similiar to overhaulins. The color is a '67 Buick Platnum Silver and black.
JHunter Oct 5th, 07, 09:54 AM Guys, thanks for the replys. Both very nice cars -
I was refering to something like this:

Except instead of the gold, a darker silver. I've seen several painted in this general scheme, taking advantage of the sexy coke bottle curves, but never in a black (lower) and silver / dark silver (top).
RockinRob Oct 5th, 07, 02:42 PM OVERHAULIN,
Could you post a few more pics of your car? This is the scheme i have been thinking of for my 67 and would like to see yours from a few different angles.
Rob

JHunter Oct 6th, 07, 09:49 AM hotrod 68 - Yep, thats the scheme Im thinking about, probably a thinner pin strip between the black and silver, but thats what Im thinking. Thanks for posting the pictures. When I get home I'll have to get photoshop and see what I can do.
Thanks!
