So I sounds like there is no real way to tell if my car is a real ss or not. I already know it's not the original color exterior or interior. I do know it was hit in the front sometime before I got it. There is nothing on the trim tag to verify that it is real. I have also heard camaro's built in van nuy's are even harder to decode. It does have a 12 bolt posi. It does have the 3/8 return fuel line. And all the emblems. But that dosen't mean squat does it? I'm really getting discouraged, I swore I would never make mine into something it's not. It would cost me an arm and a leg to change it all over. Here is my trim tag. Any help would be great. I've decoded it before but maybe there is something I'm missing.Reading from left to right top to bottom. ST 69 12437 VN 205641 TR 723 59S PNT 12B H 619.

2 fuel lines = LM1 or SS350.

What's the axle code?
Does it have the exhaust mounting plate on the driver's side?

Drum brakes were original to the car? If so, then it's a LM1.

LM1 is the 350v8 with 255 hp engine using Rochester 4 barrel carb with a return line. Its the low HP version of the 350 and only used until about Dec. of 68 in the 69 camaro. It also was used in larger full size cars. The dual fuel line was only for cars with Roch. 4 barrel carbs.

Take your time to read the CRG. Many questions you have can be answered by going there. The CRG....Its fun and its informative
