Hey all,

Just tried to bench bleed my master cylinder, which has been sitting out of the car for a long time...too long. The front piston seems to have stuck inside. I removed the rear and got the front loose, only to find a ton of crap inside. Once out, the cylinders looked like they had been scored for some time....not just from sitting, but like it needs a rebuild.

My question.....should I just get a new master cylinder? or should I get a repop? or just get the parts and rebuild it myself???

I have changed the entire brake lines and was getting ready to install so I could drive it around the block...still need to complete a bunch of stuff before its totally road-worthy.

Any advice is appreciated!!

Thanks

John - You can buy a rebuild kit and do it yourself. It is pretty easy. But if the inside is scored you will need to get it sleeved. Try this place, they were recommended to me http://www.whitepost.com/brake.html

thanks Daral....I'll check out the main sleeve and look at rebuilding.
