I recently bought 80% rear quarters for my 68 camaro convtible. But I cut the old fenders out including the top ledge. Now I find out the curve is different and a section next to the window were the molding goes is different also. Has anyone out there had to modify these hardtop fenders to fit a convertible???
So far I am planning on cutting and welding .

Ive put coupe 1/4s on convertibles before, but I left all the convertible only sheet metal on the car. The best thing I could say is to weld that area next to the 1/4 window back on and that area just where the 1/4 panel and rear window area meet back on(that is if you already cut it out)cause the conv. is different in that area. Once you have repaired the damage, use the peak style line as the splice area and go from there.
