I'm in the process of getting ready to use some Dupont chromabase BC/CC on a replacement front valance and was wondering what the time period is supposed to be between the time the base coat is sprayed and the application of the clear coat. I'm used to laquer and really wnat to know if I can paint the BC one night and the CC the next, or do they have to follow one another within a fairely short time.

Never mind, found it. Minimum time is 15 to 30 minutes, max is 24 hours.

Hey Mark. On the minimum time...You need to wait until it flashes over. This time will be dependant upon the temperature. You could wait an hour just to be for sure..

Just finished the job yesterday, new front Valance and endura front bumper, except for a few dust nubs (I am painting in an open garage)it came out pretty good. Finish is almost smooth as glass with no fisheyes, or other imperfections. Did get one sag in the clear on the corner of the bumper. Soon as I get them on the car I'll rub out the nubs and the sag and both parts will be a lot smoother than my 10 year old laquer paint on the rest of the car.
