On the front of the car next to the radiator and next to the horn relay is an electrical "box" of some sort. It has a four wire clip that plugs into it which is currently unplugged. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what it is and what the four wire clip is for? Other than not having a horn at the moment, everything seems to be working just fine, and I'm hesitant to just plug it in. Thanks, I'm a new owner of an old '68 convertible... and without a manual.

Voltage regulator maybe? Sometime people upgrade to a newer style alternator rendering the regulator unnecessary.
