where can i get a 3.73 gear for my 88 iroc 9 bolt rear end ? or is there a beter rear end i can change it to ?

Why? He probably has a 9 bolt Borg Warner rear. I've never seen 3.73s for them, but they might exist.

yes it is a 9 bolt borg warner . the car is a 1 owner 40k miles 5.7 iroc dad bought it new ive had it sence he passed away. just looking to do some upgrades. thanks

I have heard the original rears are weak in 3rd gens, that is probably why you cant get performance gears for them.

Might be better off going with a 9" from a place like Moser.

i think you are stuck with the gears that came with it. not much available for that rear axle.

They are actually pretty strong. Australian made. Similar to what's in the new GTO. The highest I've seen is the 3.27s that came in the 5.7L IROCs and Formulas.

And for what it's worth, it's really a 10 bolt gear with a 9 bolt cover...

Most of the later model cars have a pretty deep first gear, 3.73 and higher axle ratios become useless.
