I picked up my paint this week (Glacier Blue) and almost ready to start spraying, just need to verify what gets body color and where to end.

I have a 69 convertible (see signature) going to factory specs.

I painted the firewall, undercarriage 60% gloss black, I am planning on painting the cowl blue, I assume I can stop the blue right at where the windshield fits in and at the top seam (firewall-cowl)?
Hood hinges I am planning on a semi-gloss black, would that be correct.
The windshield frame, is this suppose to be body-color?
In the trunk, from what I understand, the latch area (body side) and inner taillight section along with hinge brackets and hinges should be body-color and then trunk paint would kinda blend things together but no definite break (e.g. a taped line)Let me know if I need to clarify any of these items.

Body color goes over the firewall lip just a little. I'll do a search, because I know there are pics here I used.
Hood hinges I am planning on a semi-gloss black, would that be correct. No. Hood hinges are gray phosphate. I'll try to post another link.
The windshield frame, is this suppose to be body-color? Yes, even though none of it will be visible.
In the trunk, from what I understand, the latch area (body side) and inner taillight section along with hinge brackets and hinges should be body-color and then trunk paint would kinda blend things together but no definite break (e.g. a taped line) No taped lines, but the factory didn't blow a lot of paint in here either. I think what you said is generally correct, but some of those surfaces didn't get coated really well. Let me know if I need to clarify any of these items.

See notes above; I'll look for some old threads with more detail.

For the hood hinges, you can search "hood phosphate" and start reading. There's a lot of posts.

Thanks Eric -

Since I already have the underside and firewall painted I think I could take cardboard and crudely and loosely cover the firewall to try and reproduce the over spray without a definite tape line.

The trunk is what I had envisioned, paint jamb area and hinges/brackets then somewhat blow splatter over spray on edges. I realize the factory didn't use much for coverage but I do want to make sure I use enough paint for protection.

I will paint the windshield frame when I spray car.

I'll pick up some gray phosphate for the hinges.
