I've recently purchased a 1967 Camaro RS. I just had the power steering box replaced. It came with power steering originally but the old one was leaking. I purchased a Variable ratio 3-3 1/2 turn gear box from Rick's First Generation. After picking the car up today I've noticed quite a difference in the stering. It went from turn extremely easy (practically with 1 finger) to much harder. Any suggestions?

Hi Lulu and welcome, I don't know the answer but if you put this same question in Brakes & Suspension (http://www.camaros.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16) you will get way more help then in this section. Lots of experts here , you came to the right place , good luck .:)

hi and welcome, the new box should feel tighter than the 40 year old one. i recently changed mine from manual steering to this power steering box and it feels great. not floaty, but firm. it takes a little effort to turn but you will get used to it quickly.

Thanks much. I'll try that.

Adding to Mark's comment of being a new box, you've also gone to a faster turning box meaning more manual input needed to turn because of a larger gear used.

Yes, having 1-finger power steering is nice, I enjoy mine.
