Is it possible to buy a repop soft-ray windshield? I need one and I would like to be as close to original as possible. It is nearly impossible to locate an original used one. The date is umimportant to me. Any help is appreciated.

Yes you can buy a correct reproduction. Call camaro specialties (716) 652-7086.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can get one with the correct "green" tint. I think all of the new ones have a blue tint.

I bought a green tint one from a guy in Wisconsin...I think Classic Auto Glass. He buys Pilkington, removes the label and etches the correct one on the glass...Price is not for the weak of heart! But worth it IMO. I got windshield and back glass....wish I had gone for side glass, too. Mine looked pretty good until I got the new stuff.

That is where I got mine from too. I was told it wasn't available...guess I might have talked to the wrong person. I didn't think the price was that bad.

The angle of the tint on the edge of the windshield is not correct either. Not that big of a deal IMO.
Good Luck!

What do you mean by that? I'll check mine if I know what to look for.
Pilkington Classics is another place to check. There was a reason why I bought from Classic Auto Glass rather than Pilkington, but I can't remember...I think they wouldn't restamp it, but I'm not sure.

Here is a link to the place I got my glass, it might be different than the place Unreal was talking about:

I'm thinking it was around $700 for all of it and that included putting the correct date codes and LOF symbols on it.
If you catch them at a swapmeet and order it from them, they will even ship it free.

Gambitt might be right..I looked in my files, and cannot find a receipt, so I'm not sure about the name. I did find a note I sent to them with the info on the codes, and I can see I paid $433 for windshield and back glass.
