I know one thing I learned through this gold cad thing, thanks to Fred.....my parking light housings that are silver cad, are incorrect. They'll be coming off and will be replated gold cad.

However, my horn relay is staying silver cad. ;)

I know of the 6 I had, including the originals, I found no evidence of gold cad.
I'm beginning to wonder if it was one of deals where there were 2 suppliers, one supplying gold cad, and the other supplying silver cad.

I'm just doing a little test of parking lights. I have about 15. I found a 3-4 with gold cad under the white paint and one with silver. I have 5-6 left to do and the rest were done a while ago and I cannot remember if I saw any gold, but I think I would have remembered the gold. Hit the white with a little glass beads and the paint comes off first an you can see the gold if you are careful. The gold comes off really easily! Must be why it did not last.
