Where 1989 Camaro Covertables designed to be convertables or where they just sedans with the roofs chopped off?
Thanks

As I understand it, Third gen convertibles started life as T-Top Camaros. T-top cars received more structural support so were better candidates. However, more supports were added by ASC, the company who actually did the conversions for GM. I owned a 89 convertible once and lived in West Covina. ASC was located in City of Industry and I can remember seeing the car haulers loaded with Camaros dropping cars off to be made into convertibles. It was pretty cool seeing their lot with nothing but drop top Camaros!!
The fouth gen Camaro however, was desined to be a convertible from day one. Don't know if it received any extra bracing or not though...
