View Full Version : Boom... I'm here !!!
SprayBomb Oct 30th, 07, 08:32 AM Hello Camaro lovers
My name is SprayBomb & I have a 69 Z/28
It's been sitting for somewhere around 32 years  & it's got somethin like 80,000 miles on it
Fairly solid car for for sitting in the woods under pine trees :o It's got a perfect trunk, the floors are pretty darn solid & the only bad rust is around the window frames
Ima dork & haven't ran the numbers yet, cuz I haven't even looked at the body tag :o But it is the darker green with white stripes & black interior
It's missing these parts for sure: 1 head, intake, carb, trans, air cleaner, shifter, & original wheels (the #5 cylinder has a hole in it, but my machinest said it could be fixed)
I found the: spare tire (but no jack), the original hub caps, trans X-member, drive shaft, & the distributor
I still have more digging to do, but it's looking like thats all Ima find :(
I plan on never selling this car, as it is my dream car & fell into my lap :D but I am curious as to what she's worth :p
SprayBomb Oct 30th, 07, 08:33 AM Heres the pics, sorry they're kinda crappy
I took them with my dads phone, as I forgot my camera

Well it's a long story, but lets say you have to be at the wrong place at the right time to find it

Having read the whole thread over at the linked site, I believe you have the right attitude and desire to restore that car to its former self. Thanks for saving another 1st Gen. Dayton68Z28 Oct 31st, 07, 04:14 PM Seveal years ago I was deer hunting in east Tx. We parked my 1969 Camaro in the woods. We got drunk and forgot where we parked and walked home. I never found my car. I think you found it. Please give it back. thank you.

sspecialk Nov 1st, 07, 03:11 PM Wow I can hardly wait for the story. Looks like a nice find. Have you run the numbers on the car yet? Just curious what it really is and how much is still there. Good luck.
Brentmc Nov 1st, 07, 08:13 PM Yikes. Why would someone drive it in the woods and leave it? Were they hiding it from someone? Ex-wife, the real owner, the IRS, ????
camaromaniac Nov 3rd, 07, 02:44 PM Brent,
Now don't go and spoil all of our fun & joy with all of the legal stuff!
(Just kidding, good questions).
Brentmc Nov 3rd, 07, 04:23 PM True, true...probably just a car that needed some "alone" time...
tqueen Nov 3rd, 07, 11:19 PM Nice find!

I love a story of a find like that. I have had several tips on cars just like that and none of them has worked out yet. I kinda doubt that anyone DROVE that car to that spot with a hole that big in the block. As for the pine trees, being from N.C. (home of the pine tree) I can tell you that it looks to me that the car was parked there before the trees started growing up around it. Those trees grow like weeds! By all means, keep us posted. This is gonna be a great story to keep up with! Kevin
