: Media blasting...

I have the car down to a shell and I'm looking into getting the paint stripped. I was considering having it dipped as I don't know how much filler it has in it.

It was suggested I not get it dipped and have it Media blasted. I want the entire car done though (Body exterior, both sides of all panels and doors, under carriage, interior).

Are all of these things usually done when stripping a car by blasting? If not will it substantially increase the price?

Thanks for your comments!

Both chem strip and blasting work well. You should go to both shops and see the before and after products and see which you like better. Yes to go to the extent you want blasting will be alot more.I choose the chem strip way and was very pleased.

Had both done, and dipping is much better. As a matter of fact, I just took my 69 to get dipped last saturday. I'll get it back this saturday. Dipping eliminates all surface rust even in between the seams. Media blasting will not remove rust; only paint and plastic. Sand blasting will remove paint, plastic and rust, but you'll have sand in the car forever. I think blasting is cheaper, but I wouild spend the money to get it dipped
