I'm helping out a friend restore the gas tank in her P1800 Volvo. I used the gas tank sealer product from eastwood, but it didn't turn out well. The sealer started to cure too quickly and I could not pour out the excess sealer. It turned to honey and got caught around the baffles and such. It has been about ten days and only now has the product turned hard. It has all settled to the bottom of the tank and is kind of thick on the bottom of the tank. Is it ok to run the tank this way? I'll let it cure a little longer, but it definitely doesn't seem to have covered uniformly. Thanks

Restore??? u mean patch....
Bottom line ..these compounds are just that...patches
And at the end of the day 'patch repairs' are patchy at best..creating more work and issues further down the line..
Replace or RESTORE correctily with new steel...do it once do it right
Espec when it comes to things like fuel tanks/lines/brakes...these things cause ppl to die.

Well, if it doesn't work I can always replace the tank later. I just thought I would try and seal it first. It doesn't leak or anything, just sitting for a while with a little surface rust. I don't think anyone will die if I don't replace the tank.
