The top boot is a bear to get on and off on my just acquired 68 - or I just don't know the right way to do it. Can some of you experienced folks offer some suggestions to make this easy? Thanks

When I put the boot on, I waited for a nice hot sunny day. Lay the boot over the top and let it sit in the sun for an hour or so. Start at the center of the trunk and work both ways with the clips. The sunnier it is, the easier the boot will stretch. If the boot is cool, you'll have a very hard time getting it to stretch enough to get the clips snapped in. MLL Oct 31st, 07, 06:30 AM What made mine more difficult to put on was not bothering to read the nice repro convertible top manual that I had bought! There are two places where you need to pull the top/padding out of the folding hinges before it is all the way down so the "top stack" will be low enough to make it easier to put the boot on, assuming everything else is correct of course. There is a link below to another site where this is discussed with scans of the top manual showing what I'm talking about. http://camaropacecars.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2510094833/m/2990012305/p/1 Strick Oct 31st, 07, 08:36 AM Mike - thanks for this link. I never had a top manual and now my top has some wear marks were it was folded in the crease by the frame.
