I blasted my upper and lower control arms. Primed them with a 2K primer and filled minor imperfections and pits with body filler. I reprimed again last night. I can see everywhere I put filler, but I can't feel it. Do I need to use something other than epoxy primer before I top-coat with 30% gloss black?

You could spray them with a high build primer and then sand them until they are smooth. Seems like a lot of work for control arms though. I think Eastwood sells high build primer in a rattle can.

I get flamed every time I say this but Epoxy primer is not supposed to be used over body filler to fill scratches. Try using a good spray can primer surfacer and your problems will be solved.

Reprime with the 2k not the epoxy. Light sand on primer and paint with the semi gloss.

Yep, a high build primer, sand, and paint. This should do it. I did teh same to mine, but I just used high build, about 3 coats. Something about pitted arms just drove me nuts. It's an "anal" thing.

Detail shmeetail. It's anal. I blasted and painted my subframe 13 years ago in DP90. It was just as pitted. Everytime I looked at it my stomach ached. My neighbor Tommy and I would look at each other and say "that looks like s&*t". So, off came the sub and disassemble. Scuff, prime, sand, prime, sand, prime, sand, shoot with 80/20 gloss. Looks like new now. It's anal.
