I just put my vert away for the winter and was wondering if I should store it with the top up.Last year I left it down and it is allways down so i figured it would be good to stretch it out this winter. What are you guys doing with yours?

If you leave the top up, not a bad idea, I recommend you disconnect the hyd cylinders at the frame and 'lower' the top/cylinders.

This action puts the exposed cylinder rod inside the cylinder housing and would help prevent rusting. This rust on the rod destroys the rod seal.

I have a manual top and leave it down all year. My only concern would be mice. Seems like a nice place for them to nest between the folds and possibly chew the top. I haven't had that problem, but if you have an older garage or have mice around, it could be a problem.

I leave mine down all summer, up all winter. Gets the wrinkles out.

I had a new top installed last year and was told to leave the top up when not driving. Leaving it down can help it shrink, with the top up you stretch it. Also, with the top up in the winter keeps the dust out.

Before my Camaro, I had a 71 Olds 442 vert. I left it down all the time, once caught in the rain, the top would not go all the way up. As Gary said it shrank and I had to put sand bags on it to stretch it back out...

The top will shrink if you leave it down. When I bought the '69 cuda, it had been stored for years with the top down. I went to put it up and it came up to about 6 inches away from the windshield header. Had to put 50 lbs of weights on it for a week or two till it stretched enough to be able to get it to latch ! I always store my cars top up and windows up. That way nothing gets in there, kids, dogs, cats, mice..

Top up! Mine shrank one winter just because I left it unlatched in the up position. The cylinder rod thing is a good point maybe spray a little WD40 on the exposed rod.

Just remember....the closer you get to freezing temps, the greater the chance of cracking the rear plastic window when you put the top up or down....

I put the top up and had a little trouble getting it to latch but prevailed. At first it only came about 2" from the header so it must have shrunk a little as last winter I stored it top down and never went out all year unless it was top down weather
