does the convertible top on the third-gen lock by it self or do i always have to lock it manualy from the back under the trunk with a pin

As long as the rear release mechanism is set back to lock, the top should lock itself when you push the pin back down in the boot - at least mine always worked that way.

Try pulling the release handle back after you've opened it. They sometimes stay in the unlock position which will cause your problem. Whenever you put the top back up, the pin should automatically latch.

[FONT='Times New Roman']Thanks for the info but I have one more concern I had a new top installed and I don’t want it to turn yellow over the years so this is the? is there a UV protection that I could buy for the plastic widow or could I simply tint the out side with that tint spray the shops sell any suggestions? also is there any productthat will prevent the canvas top from fading?
