I used to sit in the stands and watch this car in the good old Modified days.

It's an Opel Manta. Back in the day my grandfather had 2 of them, they looked like mini Vettes.

Thats an Opel GT. The Manta was more of a small sporty family type. My dad bought a new '75 Manta with a 1.9 FI engine, which I took over and drove during college. Opel made nice cars until mitsubishi? took over.

That's right it is a GT, It's been so long ago I've forgotten. If I remember correctly which I probably won't Opels were German made and pretty well built little cars.

If I remember correctly the last year for the opels from Germany was `75. Then the opels here in the states after `75 were built by mitsubishi. Yes Mark they were well built cars. Mine had the bosch fuel injection on it, ran great here in the mountains.
