I was wondering if anyone could help me. I lost my key for my 1991 camaro. I was told that I couldn't have a new key made unless I obtain the key code from the chevy dealership. When I called the dealer he told me that the code is no longer in the computer. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a better way to fix this problem.

i would go to another dealer.have vin number there with you.with your insurance and registration card handy.with drivers liscence. as proof as you own the car. they will make you the key.they will suck around 25 bux for key tho. it has a chip in it and it has a resister in it. theres away around it tho. like a remote starter they put a bypass resister in the ignition so that way it will start.thats your options.
