What does one look like? I have a plate with a threaded hole, but it does not look like the rectangular rubber parts sold, its for a 69.

It's a rubber bumper bonded to a steel plate with two holes in it - attaches to the bracket on the underbody with two self-tapping bolts, as shown in the assembly manual (UPC 4, sheet B3).

:beers:

Good question. The one I bought from Rick's SS-129 Axle Pinion Bumper pg 73 looks like adifferent set up than factory. The one on my car was bolted on the one from Rick's seems like you need to wedge it into the hole in rear floor area where the original one bolted - the one from Ricks is just rubber no metal plate. Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong.
Any help to clearing this up would be great.

I can get you a closer in shot if you need it, but here's mine when the underside was being deskanked...

John - could the verts have been different (different floors??)?? Mine does not bolt in that I could see. In fact, because mine was in decent shape and did not look like the repros, I left it in place and just taped it off during refinishing.

Kevin - Here's a closer shot of mine.

I am going to have to re-visit this after I get a look at my other car in the shop. I do remember a plate with a rubber snubber, but no details.

My '69 is a April built and had the bolt on. I replaced with push in.
So either one is okay. Thanks for the pictures guys and clearing this up.

Success! I was not giving up on this bolt in type of snubber! After scouring other models, I found a replacement snubber that screwed into my plate (gm#3958061). It needs some trimming to sit flush and the bolt shortened, but it fits perfectly. It is sourced to a 1993 Doge D150 pickup - Upper control arm bumper. The Moog part# is K7293. Other parts I found were Dorman#663403, or McQuay-Norris#CB6 on rock-auto. I will take pictures this weekend as I do the trimming.

The pinion snubber is what mopars use when traction bars are not allowed in certain classes.
Direct connection used to sell them & are adjustable. Theres bolt to the third member though.
