I am about to replace the fuzzies on 69 vert.

I am fixing all the adjustments issues and read the archives for tips.
I have one push on rubber stop towards the rear of each door that stops my windows when rolling them down. Thats all there is that hits when I roll my window down all the way. With the rubber stop removed I only get a half inch more. I was wondering if these rubber stops are available ( they look kind of like the top motor bumpers) Mine are brittle and broken. Also, I read a lot about removing stops and letting the windows down to work on removing the fuzzies. This led me to thinking my doors arent even 69 camaro doors lol. I dont see how my window can go down at all with the metal arm in the way that holds the little bumper. This is only at the rear of each door. Nothing stops or hits anywhere else. Im not sure I have a 69 door but in case anyone has been inside theirs lately I have a push in rubber plug at the front of the door bottom that covers the vertical rail bolt. Is this a 69 door? The door insides are blue and my car's yellow so I know they arent original.

If the doors fit the body lines of your car, it has to be the right doors.. 69 was a one year body style only.. no other door would fit your car and match your body lines.. I have a 69 firebird vert I hav'nt looked at my doors in a couple of years so I can't help you there.. the 69 firebird doors are the same as the 69 Camaros except for the outer skin..

I meant the insides. I know the outer skins are gm replacement parts because I saw both doors had that faded blue and white gm sticker on their insides. Its a good thing because there is no rust on that part of the car lol.
Anyone been inside thier 69 door lately? I am concerned about the stop on the way down. I havent seen anything about it in the archives.

There are some pictures of 69 doors in this gallery:

Maybe that will help. I'm not sure what little bumper you are referring to but it's been a while since I removed the glass from mine.

great pics. You did a nice job on that door. What I am talking about is what stops the window as you roll it down. On my car there is one rubber bumper that is connected to the window glass via a metal arm at the bottom rear only of the glass, and that rubber stop hits the bottom of the door and stops the window from going down further. I have not read anything about this rubber push in part in the archives and thought that was strange. I dont see the part in ricks, d&R, firewheel etc. and mine needs to be replaced.

That doesn't sound familiar to me at all. I'll take a look in the Fisher Body Manual when I get a chance.

Can you post a pic of what you're talking about? My doors are apart and all the stops are out, but I'm not picturing what you're talking about.

Here are the front and rear stops (as seen through my "cutaway" doors) on the driver side door on my 69.

ok, I screwed up my descriptions. Let me start all over using Eric's two pics. On your second picture down. I assume that is the front of the door. I have that part exactly like that and it stops my window when rolling up. Attached to the same metal part that adjuster is on, to the left just out of your picture I have a small bumper on a small arm that stops the window when you roll it down.
On the first pic I have a U shaped bracket kind of like that but the adjustment is made on a bracket attached to the door which has the part that goes into the u and stops the window on the way up. Mine is adjusted so far up that it doesnt do anything.

I dont have a camera but am thinking of getting one to show the parts and my car. Im sorry I screwed up the original description of the stop. It is located at the front of the window/door and its right near the part that adjusts in eric's second picture.

To be more clear, Im talking about the window stopping when you roll it down, not up. I think the pics show the stops on the way up. Does anyone have a single rubber bumper that hits the bottom of the door when you roll the window all the way down? That is the part im looking for. Its kind of like the bumper on the trunk lid but smaller. It pushes into a hole like on the a arm bumper. FWIW, I got my fuzzies off by removing the two window adjusters with the little felts on them. I didnt need to lower the window. But, I would still like to get a couple "lowering the window" door bumper stops if they are available.

This is a really good 69 door adjustment link I found in archives.
I dont think there is a way to "drop" the window down to adjust the fuzzies, except to remove the "front and rear stabilzer strips". Im not positive about this, but this is just what I know up to now. Anyhow, that was plenty of room for me to remove those old fuzzies or what was left of them. I taped the upper window ( which was down) and taped the door near the top because those clips are dangerously sharp and protuding while removing the fuzzies clips from the door one at a time. Its not an impossible job, just a little scary if you have nice paint.

My inner door and outer skin are 69 camaro originals ( from a donor/parts car) and gm replacement parts with faded stickers ( outer skins). My guess is that some or all 69's had a push in rubber bumper that hits when you lower the window. Its near "window front up travel stop" and is part of the metal that the up travel stop adjusts on, but on the other side of the" front guide" and facing down. I dont think they repo it but I think I can find a similar rubber bumper part from something else and put it in the hole.

mystery solved and part identified. In Rick's Fall/Winter 2007 catalog p.19 or Firewheel classic p.16 nice pictures of the rubber stopper. Its on the window plate that attaches to the glass. Its called the front rubber stop and its not sold except with the plate.
If anyone knows where I can get a couple of these I would appreciate the info.

Have you tried calling Rick's and asked them if they can get you a couple? There was a time when they would help you acquire things like this even if it's not an item listed for sell in their catalog. If they don't have the bumpers available they could contact the supplier of the window plate and try to get them for you. I know in the pre-Eckler's days those guys would go out of their way like this, but I don't know now.

It's worth a call. The worse they can tell you is "no".

If Rick's says "no" I would give Firewheel a call.

I was missing 1 of those & went to ace hardware & found a tapered piece of rubber(like a bottle cork) that was the right size. I cut a grove in it so it would lock in the window plate like the factory one. Works just fine, only $.08
