Hi guys.. I hope I did'nt make a mistake,, I am finally starting work on my 68 SS/RS 396 375 HP 4speed Numbers matching coupe.. I cut the passenger side qrt. off today,, The car still has the rear axle connected, and the front subframe is still attached.. The reason I did it this way is so I can roll the car outside to sand blast the inner frame structures.. after I cut the qrt off I got to wondering what will happen when I cut the other side off???... Will the trunk floor and the rear frame rails support the car enough to roll the car back outside with the rear axles and front subframe still attached,??... I know when I bring the car back in to install the full trunk pan, rear frame rails and full floor pan I will have to remove the rear end, leaf springs and front subframe... .. Please,, Please evryone tell me I'm going to be okay.. I don't want to screw this up right off the bat !!!!... I've had this car since 1974 and it has not been driven since 1979.. It's do or let this car die now,, it is a absolute total rusted bucket.. It's now or never gonna happen..

I think you should be OK since the quarters are not intended to be structural.

At the point you are at you shouldn't have a problem unless its so rotted you had no structual integrity to start with. In my opinion you can never put in to much temp bracing and never too early. Buy some 3/4" square tube, its cheap and works good. Just be sure not to weld it where the next panel you want to remove will be in the way etc etc...
