I have a '97 LT1 Camaro Z28. The engine has a dead miss and a P0307 (cylinder misfire) fault code. First, I changed ignition wires (needed to be done anyway); no change; then I removed #7 plug, grounded the plug and spun the engine to verify spark at the plug tip (good spark); I reinstalled the plug and wire and swapped #5 and #7 fuel injectors; I started the engine (miss still present); I cleared the code and drove the car around the block; SES light and same code came back; I checked voltage at fuel injector with key on (11.9 volts); I then removed the PCM and ohmed out wire (PCM red connector pin 6, to #7 fuel injector connector red with black stripe) 1.6 ohms, wiggling the wires around didn't cause reading to change; I put every thing back together started the car (miss still there) cleared the code and drove it again SES and same code came back; Now what? Am I looking at a bad PCM? Is there a way to confirm the PCM is bad before I buy one? Could it be something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
