I forgot to mention the exhaust, 1 3/4 hooker super/comp coated that were used when ran on dyno through 3" mandrell bent exhaust out to rear of car with dynomax mufflers.

I have a similar set up. yours is a little more radical than mine, mine is a 355 10.5/1 550 lift solid roller, dart sportsman heads, 2.02 /1.60, Victor jr port matched to #1205? gasket. same gears, same tires, M21 trans.
mine has only gone low 12's.
good luck on 10's:D
keep us posted:beers:

Kenny, I run a similar combo. 434ci, a little better flowing head, a little smaller cam, 4000 converter, exact same gears, tires & weight. So far, the best I can get is an 11.05 @ 123mph without much tuning. I'm stepping up the cam to almost exactly yours (268/274 duration w/.653"/.642" lift on a 108lsa), 52-5400 8" converter, & porting the heads. I'm shooting for 10.70's or so. If it doesn't come close, I'll sell the car & take up golf. Yea right!!! Bill.

550/500 at the wheels ?

Shouldn't have any problem seeing 10's if it hooks and you hit your shift points.

You shouldnt have a problem gettin in the high to mid 10s if the engine made
547hp and your car is 3300lbs thats set up decent and hooks.

A friend has a 383 which made 525hp. Its in a 67 chevelle which is 3500+lbs,
and the car has gone 10.80s @ 122. So being lighter and having a few more hp
you shouldnt have a problem with gettin in the high 10s. Eric68 ran high 10s with
a similar 383 (with a heavier car) makin similar power.

Your tranny brake will put you into 10's if you hook. What the dyno didn't tell you about your engine is the benefits you will reap from your lightweight crank. I wish I had a light crank. I think mine is 51 or 49#, don't remember... I'll weigh it while I'm tore down.

Thanks to all for your input. I think this site rocks. It is very cool how everybody has one goal in mind, to go fast and help others go fast.

thats not our only goal, but it is the "number one" goal.
