Does anyone know of a specification or the type of black paint (gloss, semi, flat) that should be used to paint the tail of a 67 396 SS?

Thanks

I've seen several varations of gloss on the tailpanel of 67-69 Camaros, I painted mine with black basecoat-no clear applied, and I think it turned out perfect, I'd say a 60-70 percent gloss, also make sure you apply it far enough down so you can't see body color above the bumper, http://www.camaros.net/forum/redface.gif just split the bumper bolt holes.

pipeman, I would put some semi-gloss clear over that base. Base coat doesn't have any UV protection, so it shouldn't be used where it will have direct sunlight on it without a clear coat over it.

Is it just the big blocks that got the Blacked out tail pan or was it just an option.

Thanks

Hey Scott,

The blackout tail was on the BB cars - it was not an option for the 350 or 327. I'm not sure if it was on the 302 Z/28's though.

Thanks,

John

Nope, Big blocks only.
